As the holidays approach, the needs of others loom large. This holiday season Lord of Life is sponsoring two outreaches, one to FISH and one to the mothers and children in the Family Shelter. 

Our Thanksgiving outreach is to FISH where we can help provide foodstuffs for a hearty Thanksgiving dinner to those in need in the our surrounding communities of Darien, Downers Grove, Lisle and Westmont.  Suggested items in need are:

cranberry sauce

instant mashed

potatoes

Jiffy cornbread mix

canned pineapple

canned sweet potatoes

stuffing mix

We will deliver these items to FISH the weekend of the November 20th-21st. so the last collection day will be Friday, November 19th. 

For our Christmas outreach, the LCW invites us to join in helping the mothers and children in the Family Shelter by providing gift cards the families can use for their Christmas needs.  The shelter has suggested we provide gift cards for the following stores:

Target

Walmart

Visa

Amazon

Game Stop

Dollar Tree

Five Below

Aldi

Tony's Fresh Market

Pete's Fresh Market

Trader Joe's

Jewel

Mariano's

In addition, they have also suggested donating winter gear such as warm hats, scarves and mitten/gloves and blankets such as :"Quilts and Fleece Tied" for children or adults.  The LCW will deliver these gifts to the Shelter during the weekend of December 3rd so the last day of collection will be on November 28 2021.  Thank you for whatever you can provide.  Please support our way of doing God's Work, Our Hands.
